When We Leave
Watching this video reminded me a lot of Fallout and Chernobyl. When humans build a settlement, what will happen if we suddenly vanish? What effect will it have? This video features an abandoned Six Flags amusement park in New Orleans. The park closed down in 2005 for Hurricane Katrina, and never reopened. The video has a sort of eeriness in it that I find fascinating, comforting, and creepy all at the same time. It makes me wonder what the world wold be like if we were to leave it, or if some cataclysmic event happened that forced us to live underground or in remote locations or protective environment domes.

This reminds me of L4D2's carnival area... Except without all of the zombies.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is eerie... Being the adventurous person I am, I would love to explore it. :O
I wonder if we're all wiped out, what will future civilizations think of what we left behind? The thought of people preserving our buildings like we protect the pyramids and ancient temples is strange, yet cool.
